Here at Royal Dental Practice, we take great pride in the strong reputation we have built in the West Hills and greater West Valley region of California, on not only the exceptional dental services we provide to patients of all ages but also in the comfortable experience we try to provide to each patient we see. However, we are aware that many individuals in our area have had very negative dental experiences in the past, resulting in dental fear and anxiety.
Dr. Shoffet recognizes this and has worked hard to prioritize patient comfort as a part of her dental approach. Using gentle treatment techniques in combination with sedative options, we can help our patients combat existing dental anxiety. We want each patient we see to have a truly “royal experience.” To make that a reality, we get to know our patients personally to build trust.
We consider sedation an excellent complement to our inviting surroundings, caring team, and gentle techniques and technologies that support the most comfortable treatment.
“Sedation” simply refers to delivering a safe substance or medication to induce relaxation. It may be appropriate for patients with apprehension or fear over dental visits. It also promotes utmost relaxation and comfort among those patients with bad gag reflexes, who tend to fidget, or are undergoing lengthy or complex treatments.
We can adjust the method, dosage, or medication used to accommodate patients with minor anxiety and more severe dental phobia alike. Additionally, the method used to administer the sedative also depends on the nature of the treatment and the severity of any dental anxiety or emotional distress that may be present. At Royal Dental Practice, we offer IV Sedation and general anesthesia as options to our patients.
