How are X-rays done at my home?
We use a portable, digital X-ray machine. This handheld machine captures and displays clear and detailed images of the teeth, gums, and jawbone instantly. Digital technologies also do not present additional safety concerns for vulnerable populations, because they are associated with less radiation exposure than conventional X-rays or radiographs. Dr. Shoffet uses another mobile technology, digital intraoral imaging, to capture high-resolution, real-time views of the inside of the mouth. Intraoral camera technology is particularly helpful when communicating needs and treatment options to patients and/or caregivers. Dr. Shoffet can point out specific issues and show or demonstrate how certain treatments may be helpful and why they may be needed.

Can I be treated at my home, too?
It depends on the nature of your needs and the type of treatment that Dr. Shoffet recommends. Many preventive, diagnostic, denture, and appliance services can be delivered from the comfort of home. However, restorative and emergency services are done on a case-by-case basis. For instance, fillings and extractions are delivered via mobile dentistry on a limited basis. Don’t worry, though! You can still get concierge-level care outside of the confines of our mobile services. We can provide customized accommodations, extended appointments, coordination with other members of a patient’s care team, and more.
