Royal Dental Practice partners with individuals of all ages from West Hills, Los Angeles, California, and the greater western San Fernando Valley region. With routine dental care, all patients, regardless of their “season of life,” can keep their teeth looking, feeling, and functioning great!
Healthy, attractive smiles are built on a foundation of both home and professional care at our office. We also make house calls! So, when you reach out to us, be sure to ask about our mobile dentistry services. This makes it even easier to get the ongoing care your mouth (and whole body!) needs to be healthy and feel good.
We know that you know brushing and flossing each day is essential; however, many patients may not be cleaning their teeth the right way. It is important to brush at least twice a day, for at least two minutes each time, taking great care to go over all surfaces of the teeth–including those hard-to-reach spaces between teeth or at the back of the mouth. Some patients may still “skimp” on the flossing, but this habit is vitally important to catch what your brush can’t reach and remove.
Now, during professional visits at our office or house calls, our dentist, Dr. Roya Shoffet-Yaghoubian, and other members of your care team may recommend specific cleaning products and techniques. These recommendations are based on your unique needs, lifestyle, and preferences. We can also demonstrate ways to clean teeth more effectively. For hard-to-reach teeth, we may even integrate professional preventive services, such as dental sealants, into your visit. These sealants are placed on decay-prone back teeth to protect them from damage by “sealing out” food particles, bacteria, and plaque.
Even those patients who practice consistent and thorough oral hygiene at home cannot remove all of the plaque that builds up on teeth. It is constantly forming. Once it hardens, plaque build-up or tartar can only be removed by our dental professionals at Royal Dental Practice. They use specialized instruments and techniques to effectively and gently remove tartar, surface stains, and bacteria. Patients with existing gum inflammation and disease may need scaling and root planing, a “deep clean” alternative to the standard cleaning.
Regular visits are also necessary to catch problems early before you know they exist. Often, by the time you notice things like discomfort or bleeding, damage may have already been done. We want to avoid that. Dr. Shoffet uses her keen eye and advanced digital x-rays and cameras to pinpoint early-stage decay, disease, and other anomalies (such as pre-cancers).
Call (818) 334-6655 to schedule an appointment at our West Hills, Los Angeles, California office or request a home visit. These dental “check-ups” are typically scheduled once every six months or twice a year. However, if you have risk factors for conditions like gum disease and oral cancer, we will want to check your mouth more often.
