Royal Dental Practice in West Hills, Los Angeles, California, is led by an experienced dentist who has dedicated her career to continuous learning. Due to this fundamental passion for knowledge and innovation, Dr. Roya Shoffet has the onsite expertise and capabilities to save or preserve even some of the most badly damaged teeth.
Dr. Shoffet likes to say that we roll out the red carpet to all our patients. It is essential for us to provide and support an inviting, non-judgmental, safe, and warm environment and experience. Treatments to resolve more extensive needs, like root canal therapy, complement this approach. In fact, by removing damaged tissues inside of the tooth and cleaning out the root canals, our team:
Do not wait to notice changes like tooth sensitivity before contacting us. It is essential to maintain routine check-ups (exams and cleanings) scheduled at least once every six months. During your visit, Dr. Shoffet will ideally “catch” problems with the teeth before they progress to the point of needing extensive restorative care.
Depending on the nature and extent of the damage to a tooth, a filling, inlay, onlay, or crown may be appropriate for more modest cavities/trauma. However, root canal therapy may be on the horizon for those with inflammation or infection to the innermost tooth structure.
Dr. Shoffet will discuss options to keep you relaxed at every stage of treatment. Comfort is also ensured with a localized anesthetic administered and monitored by our expert anesthesiologist. You won’t feel anything as Dr. Shoffet accesses the innermost tissues, removes the damaged tissue (including the nerves responsible for pain), and cleans or sterilizes the canals where the tissues used to be. The canals/treatment site is closed off to encourage healing. Dr. Shoffet can also discuss antibiotics, which may be needed to aid in clearing the infection.
As an essential part of after-care, it is also critical for you to return to Royal Dental Practice as advised by Dr. Shoffet to restore the treated tooth. Failure to restore the tooth (usually with a dental crown) can also lead to the failure of treatment. The tooth may be lost.
With prompt and consistent care, we help patients of all ages retain their natural teeth and complete, healthy smiles. Call (818) 334-6655 to speak with a member of our team in West Hills, Los Angeles, CA today.
